Policies & standards

God’s Vision Impact Center

These policies describe how we steward trust with the people we serve, our volunteers, donors, and partners. They reflect our mission to empower people in our communities, support those facing food insecurity and daily living needs, and walk alongside neighbors with dignity—including through mentoring, education, job readiness, outreach, and practical help.

Purpose & scope

God’s Vision Impact Center is committed to operating with integrity as we pursue our vision: mentoring, motivating, and equipping people through programs focused on spirituality, education, job readiness, outreach, and care for the whole person—mind, body, and soul. These policies apply to board members, staff, volunteers, interns, and others acting on behalf of the organization unless a specific section states otherwise.

Non-discrimination & equal opportunity

We serve people of all ages, single mothers, families, and others in our communities who need support, without regard to race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, military status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Services, employment, and volunteer opportunities are offered in a fair and equitable manner. Harassment or retaliation against anyone for asserting their rights under this policy is not tolerated.

Respectful, harassment-free environment

We expect everyone involved with the organization to treat others with respect. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abusive conduct—whether verbal, physical, or digital—is prohibited. This includes unwelcome comments or conduct related to protected characteristics, or that creates an intimidating or hostile environment for participants, staff, or volunteers.

Confidentiality of participants

Information shared by people who receive services, housing applicants, pantry guests, or program participants is handled with care and shared only on a need-to-know basis for program delivery, safety, or legal compliance. Staff and volunteers are expected to protect sensitive information and not discuss individual situations publicly or on social media without appropriate consent.

Volunteers & donors

Volunteers support our work in the community and are expected to follow these policies, any role-specific guidance, and instructions from staff. Gifts and in-kind donations are used to advance our charitable purposes, including essentials for people who are homeless or in unstable conditions, as described in our purpose and commitment. We honor donor intent when stated and comply with applicable fundraising and charitable solicitation practices.

Conflict of interest

Board members, officers, and key staff must act in the best interest of the organization, not for private gain. A conflict exists when personal, family, or business interests could influence a decision about contracts, employment, partnerships, or use of resources. Conflicts must be disclosed promptly; the affected individual should not vote or participate in related decisions. The board may adopt a written conflict-of-interest policy with disclosure forms as needed.

Reporting concerns

Anyone who witnesses misconduct, policy violations, or risks to participants or the organization is encouraged to report concerns to leadership or the board. Reports made in good faith will be taken seriously and, where appropriate, investigated while respecting privacy. Retaliation against someone for reporting in good faith is prohibited. For emergencies or immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

Privacy & data

We collect only the information we need to operate programs, communicate with supporters, and meet legal obligations. Website visitors and form users should know that standard technical data (such as browser or device information) may be processed by hosting or email tools we use. We do not sell personal information. For questions about how specific data is handled, contact us through the information on our contact page.

Financial integrity & accountability

We strive to use resources responsibly to fulfill our mission: rebuilding lives and families, providing basic necessities, and supporting employment and dignity. Financial records are maintained in line with accepted practices. The board provides oversight of budgets, major commitments, and compliance with laws and grant requirements. External review (such as an independent financial review or audit) may be conducted as appropriate for the organization’s size and funding.

Updates & legal review

Policies may be revised as our programs grow or laws change. The board or designated leadership approves material updates. This page is a practical summary for staff, volunteers, and the public; it is not a substitute for individualized legal advice. The organization may adopt additional written policies (for example, personnel manuals or grant-specific requirements) that supplement this page.
